Introduction
Hi, my name is Alysa Olson, and I have experienced several hospital stays ranging from a few days to several months. I started this blog because I want to share my first-hand experience with the gifts that helped me to get well soon. There have been many difficult days during my medical journey, but I can truly say that I'm happy to be alive and a warrior mama to my two amazing children.
The Initial Struggles
When I first faced prolonged hospital stays, I found it incredibly challenging to maintain a positive outlook. The sterile environment, the constant beeping of machines, and the seemingly endless tests can be overwhelming. It was during these initial struggles that I realized the importance of finding light in the darkness. Simple gestures like a handwritten note from a friend or a cozy blanket made a world of difference.
The Power of Gifts
Throughout my journey, I received many thoughtful gifts that brought comfort and joy. A friend once gave me a journal, which became a safe space for me to express my fears and hopes. Another time, my sister gifted me flowers and candy, which lifted my spirits on the hardest days. These small tokens of love and care reminded me that I was not alone in my battle.
Being a Warrior Mama
One of the biggest motivations for my recovery has been my two amazing children. Despite the challenges, I strive to be the best mother I can be. They have shown me the true meaning of resilience and strength. Knowing that I have little ones who depend on me has pushed me to fight harder every day.
